More like Toriaezu Shinu Wa
- ★★★ Excellent!!!
I'm a huge fan of this author's previous work, Toriaezu Shinu Wa, and that is pretty much the biggest reason why I enjoy this one as well. Similar to Toriaezu, the protagonist is more than a little overpowered, with a yandere-ish partner/lover at his side. I liked this dynamic vs the standard harem setup that tends to dominate the isekai genre, not the least of which because it brings that main heroine to life in a way that harem stories tend to suck at (though harems have their own attractions, lol).
The comedy in this story is pretty much situational comedy, where the sheer absurdity of the characters, setting, and events provides most of the humor. Because of this, if you are the type that prefers slapstick humor, this probably isn't a great choice for you.
I would say this story is significantly less extreme than Shinu wa because of the lack of genocidal themes and the focus on Zieg and Eleanore's adventures vs the more warlike focus of Shinu Wa. It is hard to say which I prefer, since it could go either way depending on my mood.
On its own, this one joins my top twenty or so web novels (including English ones), and I can honestly recommend it to Japanese-speaking westerners who enjoy reading web novels.
