Things to Avoid During Ghost Month (Translation: Ed)

Things to Avoid During Ghost Month 1-1 (English)

Translation: Ed

One July evening, a young girl wearing a red dress was waiting at a bus stop.

She was still in elementary school and was on her way home from playing in the river.

The empty streets were painted red by the setting sun. The girl was all alone in a sepia colored world.

Leaning against a concrete wall on the side of the road she whistled merrily.

A sudden gust of wind howled past her.

Her hair, still wet from the river, swayed in the breeze as she turned around to see a ragged old bus stopped in front of her.

Confused, the girl took a look at the bus schedule.

 "That's weird..."

The bus she was waiting for, the last bus of that day, wasn't supposed to come at this time.

But if she didn't hurry home Mom would scream at her.

Impatience got the better of her and she got on the bus.

Her steps made a terrible creaking sound on the floor as she boarded the bus.

 "Excuse me....."

It seemed there were no other passengers. The girl called out again, this time with her loudest voice.

"Does this bus go to the station?"

 The bus driver was silent.

 "......."

Something seemed fishy, but before she knew it the automatic door was shut and the bus had taken off.

The tired girl took a seat all the way at the back of the bus. As soon as she sat down the sleepiness became too much to fight off and the girl drifted into slumber.
