1. Visit to Tokyo Immigration Office
Since the claim for worker's compensation would not proceed immediately. I was advised by the Embassy that I should return to Brazil at this time to rest and recover in body and spirit.
On November 6, I went to the Tokyo Immigration Office to apply for the departure confirmation accompanied by Tomi-san. Then we went to the Brazilian Embassy and received cargo visas and applied for the subsequent procedure.
The same day, our appointment wit the ambassador began. We were told that the Brazilian government could not keep silent about the death of the Brazilian worker. When we discussed it afterwards, we both realized that the matter had become very serious.
2. The second visit to Brazilian Embassy (Problem of legal action arises.)
On the 19th, we visited the embassy again and had talked with the ambassador for one and half an hours. The ambassador then had discusses privately with the secretary. I realized that they had fixing a date for them to meet if I agreed to bring the case into court.
The Brazilian ambassador Orlando spoke seriously to me once again. "Are you satisfied to leave this matter unsolved?" I had been told that I would not be required to pay the lawyer's fees until after compensation had been paid.
I therefore finally decided to fight for it in the court. Mr. Orlando was very much pleased and said, "You are great!"
On the 24 November we visited the lawyers at the office in Yaes, Tokyo, where we were shown the method of calculating compensation for a death. When it had been translated into Portuguese, we returned to the Embassy.
