    normally this situation is impossible.
margrave who is in charge border of country alone is powerful, if you put him in charge of national food storage too then royal family is a fool.
and if this happen the only thing possible is marriage between princess and son of margrave so that margrave family can still be under control of royal family.
if margrave family take a strong stance against royal family and deny marriage then the only thing possible is war.
*thank your for the explanation author now it start to make sense.

Thank you for reading my novel and for your feedback.✨
You are a very good reader of Japanese.

I am not very good at English. Please forgive my poor writing.

I understand there may be some points that could catch your attention as you read my novel. For the sake of prioritizing the story's entertainment value, there may be instances where the setting doesn't entirely align with historical accuracy.

Most of the territory within the Empire consists of a network of rivers, forming extensive wetlands. Only the lands under the control of the Margrave on the frontier are suitable for agriculture. As a result, the Margraviate not only serves to protect the borders but also bears responsibility for food production.

As I mentioned in Episode 8-2, a coup d'état took place in a neighboring country, leading to political unrest. Since then, the threat of invasion from the neighboring country to the empire has diminished, leaving only the concern of monster attacks. This shift has reduced the strategic importance of the Margrave on the border, and thus, the royal family has deprioritized their attention toward the Margraviate.

Regarding marriage, the princess is already promised to another noble. Currently, the Emperor's power is not absolute within the court; he has had to strengthen his ties with the nobles in the capital to consolidate his authority.

Additionally, the Emperor and the Margrave share a personal relationship based on mutual trust, and it was deemed unnecessary to establish a marital alliance for this reason as well.

This reflects my own headcanon on these points. Does this explanation help clarify things?

I would be delighted if you continued to enjoy the story.🤗

  • 大好きなお姉様を取られて、直々にその相手の品格と人格を品定めしに来るのかぁ

    これは辺境伯との縁を望んでるけど娘も大事な公爵パパよりも、品定めは遙かに厳しいね
