It's really unfortunate for Japanese female stars. The fanbases are rabid mysoginists who dream of dating and sleeping with their idols living in extremely unhealthy parasocial relationships. While some of that exists in the US, most female stars don't have to deal with potentially losing their fanbase if they date or get married. Heck, many of them soar to popularity when the bf and gf make videos together. The again, the idol industry to begin with is a psuedo-paedophilic industry relying on devotion of middle aged men towards young teenage girls. Luckily the existence of V-tubers gives a greater freedom to ppl who wish to attain fame without it effecting their daily life. Many V-tubers manage to remain completely anonymous by not posting things about their real life in social media accounts and keeping their persona entirely online.
