Lisa and Dreaming Forest
Lisa was the merriest lass in all the western village. One afternoon, after she had eaten a madeleine that her mama had baked for her, she sat on a bench in the garden and basked in the sun. But soon the sun hid behind a cloud, and a chilly wind brushed Lisa’s cheek. And then Lisa felt herself grow light as a feather, and before she knew it, she was standing before a dark and great forest.
“Good day, little miss,” said a deep and gentle voice behind her. She turned around and saw a bear as big as a shed standing there. “What is your name, little miss?” “Lisa. And yours?” “I have no name. Will you give me one?” Lisa thought for a while and said, “How about Freddy?” “Thank you for the lovely name. From now on I am Freddy.” Freddy said so and blinked his round eyes.
“As a token of gratitude for giving me a name, I will show you around the forest.” Freddy started to walk towards the dark and great forest. Lisa was a little scared, but she was more curious to see what was inside the forest, so she followed Freddy.
Freddy stopped at the entrance of the forest and said, “To enter the forest, you need a password. Say after me what I will teach you now.” Lisa repeated what he taught her. The whole forest rustled and said “Welcome to Dreaming Forest.” from deep inside. “Now we are all right. The forest welcomes you.” And then what had looked black before turned into dazzling green. Lisa became very happy and ran into the forest by herself. “Hey Lisa! Don’t go ahead without me! There are dangerous places in the forest too!” Lisa pretended not to hear Freddy’s voice and went deeper into the forest.
As she walked along a path in the forest, little fairies with transparent wings appeared and landed softly on Lisa’s head and shoulders. “What is your name?” “Where did you come from?” The fairies asked Lisa one after another. “I’m Lisa. I came from the western village.” “Come on Lisa! Let’s play together!” “Let’s play!” When Lisa said “Yes”, they cheered and flew around Lisa’s head fluffily. The fairies made her a crown of flowers, played beautiful music for her, and they had a wonderful time.
“It’s time to go home.” “Bye bye Lisa.” “Bye bye.” Suddenly they said so and flew away into the deep inside of the forest . She looked around and saw nothing but twisted trees growing thickly everywhere. Lisa found herself alone in an unfamiliar part of the forest . “What shall I do? I can’t go home by myself.” As the sun went down, the place grew darker by degrees. From far away she heard shrieks of terror. Lisa felt lonely and began to sob.
“Oh! I finally caught up with you.” A deep, gentle voice came from behind her. She turned around and saw a bear as big as a shed standing there . “Oh! Freddy!” Lisa ran up to him and jumped into his fluffy belly . "Oh dear! Are you crying, Lisa? " “Yes, because I thought I would never get home if I stayed here, and I got scared.” “That’s why I told you not to go ahead by yourself.” “I’m sorry.” She said so and hugged his belly tightly.
“It will be dark soon. Then various ghosts will come out in the forest . Do you want to go home now, Lisa? " Freddy stroked her head and said so . “Yes, I want to go home.” “Then let me teach you the password to get out of the forest .” Lisa repeated after Freddy what he taught her. The whole forest rustled again and said "Goodbye, little miss.” From somewhere. And then Lisa felt herself grow light as a feather again , and before she knew it , she was sitting on a bench in the garden basking in the sun .
From inside the house , she heard her mama say , “Lisa , come here for a moment .” Lisa rubbed her eyes and answered cheerfully , “Yes !”
And that is how this story ends .
