第3話 The Savior Of Time

They both look at that man. Completely shocked by seeing his appearance and what he just called them.

"T-Time... Travellers?"

Sotean asks that man while making a puzzled face.

That man says.

"Yes. Time Travellers. You two are chosen to be the Time Travellers. "

"But...why we? "

Sereka asked him confusingly.

"Let me ask you something, Tell me why you two keep doing your research on solving the mysteries of the universe ?"

He seriously asked them.

"W-Well, it's because we love solving mysteries.

Right Sotean ?"

Sereka tell that man then asked Sotean for confirmation.

"Y-Yeah. She's right."

Sotean said nervously.

"That's the reason why I summoned you. I need someone trustworthy of this job to save the world."

That man said in a serious voice.

"T-To Save the World ?"

Sotean asked him while making a confused face.

"What do you mean ?"

Sereka asked him, she's a little worried.

"Well, Let me explain to you. But before that let me introduce myself. My name is Orthonoxmus. And I'm the guardian of The Place of Infinite Possibilities. It's a pleasure to meet you two. And what're your names ?"

He said then asked.

"My name is Sotean."

Sotean said while feeling a little relief.

"And my name is Sereka."

Sereka said while looking at that man.

"Okay, Sotean and Sereka. Let me explain why I summoned you two here."

He said seriously.

"You two are summoned here to maintain the balance of the time. Because as you two already know that, Every single action can able to create a new parallel world. Even a minor action led to the creation of big changes. There are so many Time Travellers other than you two, who travels through time and led to many changes. But there are some Time Hunters who led to the creation of virtual timelines because of that certain changes. Because of that Time balance become difficult and because of that many real timelines start fading. You two are here to fight these Time Hunters and stop the unnecessary growth of virtual timelines. That's the reason why you two are summoned here."

Orthonoxmus explains.

"O-Okay, I think I understand some of them but why don't you go and defeat them on your own ?" Sotean asked him.

"As you know, I'm the guardian of this place. So, I can't able to leave this place. That's why I summoned you two."

Orthonoxmus said.

"Hm... You're right, I guess. But how we can able to fight them because we're just ordinary humans."

Sereka said seriously.

"Yeah, She's right."

Sotean said.

"You don't have to worry about that, I will give you... Your weapons. "

Orthonoxmus said.

Then he snapped his fingers then suddenly Sotean got a Red-colored Sword and Sereka gets blue-colored Katana in their hands.

"Wow...Wonderful."

Sotean said in amazement.

"Wow...It's great."

Sereka said in amazement.

"B-But I don't know how to use it. How can I able to defeat that time hunter, if I don't know how to use my sword."

Sotean said worriedly.

"Yeah, You're right. I also don't know how to use this Katana. What should we do ?"

Sereka said then ask him.

"Don't panic you two, just listen here..."

He said

As he got their attention, he began instructing them.

"...Just close your eyes and focus your body potential on your weapon. It will work. Just try it."

Orthonoxmus explains.

After hearing what Orthonoxmus said, they both close their eyes and do as same as he told them to do. After that, Sotean feels a warm sensation in his hand. He opens his eyes and is surprised to see that his sword starts glowing red.

"W-What's happening? " He muttered to himself.

On the other hand, Sereka feels the cold sensation in her hand. He opens her eyes and is surprised to see her Katana starts glowing blue.

Then instead of muttering to herself, shouted while saying.

"WHAT'S HAPPENING ??"

"Don't worry, it's nothing harmful. It's just that you two now learned how to use your sword and Katana.

Congratulations."

Orthonoxmus said.

"W-We learned how to use it ?"

Sotean asked confusingly.

"Seriously ?"

Sereka asked.

"Indeed. You two learn how to fight with your sword and Katana."

Orthonoxmus said.

Then suddenly, Sotean's Sword and Sereka's Katana disappeared.

They both looked shocked.

"Huh!? What's happened to my sword ?"

Sotean said worriedly.

"And what about my Katana ?"

Sereka said worriedly.

They both look at Orthonoxmus.

"Your weapons just disappear because you don't need them now. In the time of emergency, it automatically appears in front of you. So, calm down."

Orthonoxmus said.

Then he came near Sotean and Sereka and place his both hands to their heads.

(Right at Sotean and Left at Sereka.)

"What are you doing?"

Sereka said with a bit of irritation.

"Um..."

Sotean looks confused.

"Now."

Orthonoxmus said then he removes his hand from their heads.

"I give you the power to teleport from one place to another, in the time of need. "

He said.

"O-Okay."

Sereka said.

"And Sotean. I also give you the power of seeing what happened in other timelines and what it reflects your current timeline."

Orthonoxmus said to Sotean.

"I understand."

Sotean said seriously.

"From now on, you two are the protector of the time. "

Orthonoxmus said thoughtfully.

They both look a bit happy.

"But for now, go home take some rest and get ready for tomorrow. "

Orthonoxmus said

Then he snapped his fingers again and then they both returned to Sotean's home.

"Hey, Sotean..."

Sereka said in a bit of disappointment in her voice.

"Hm. What's the matter ?"

Sotean asked her.

"So, what do you think about this? Because I think it's some bit risky, Don't you think?"

Sereka asked him.

Sotean smiles then said.

"If it's for my world I will do whatever it takes to protect it."

Sereka looks at him in amazement.

Then she feels a warm sensation in her chest.

She smiles then said.

"That's my Sotean. Always ready for every challenge."

Sotean smiles then said.

"Let's protect the world together."

"Yeah." Sereka responds.

They both smile then Sereka said.

"Now I think I have to go home. We have to better prepare for tomorrow."

"Right."

Sotean said.

Then Sereka went home.

On her way home.

She muttered to herself

"Why do I feel so good when I'm with Sotean? It's really strange. But what if it's Love."

She then shakes her head and mutters to herself again.

"Silly girl, don't think something like that. Sotean is just my best friend or nothing else. But what if..."

She hold her head and then muttered to herself.

"Oh, God! I don't have to think something like that."

Then she walks her way to her home.

On the other hand, Sotean lies down on his bed looking at the Key to Everything. Then suddenly he fell asleep because of tiredness.

He sees a dream in which his home was on fire.

He wakes up panting heavily.

*Panting* "What was that ?"

He muttered to himself.

Then he realizes something, he runs towards his kitchen. He finds out that his gas stove is open. He turns it off.

Then he muttered to himself again.

"So... That's what happens in another timeline. Then what happens to be there ?"

He looks panicked and confused.
