第4話 The Work Of A Real Time Travellers

On the next day, Sotean wakes up and gets ready for school.

"Man! I have to be better ready for this work."

He muttered to himself.

"I think maybe Sereka is also excited about this."

He looks at his wall clock.

"WHAT!? 8:30 AM, I must have to hurry."

He rushes back to his room, takes his school bag, and runs towards his home's main gate while eating a toast.

He locked his home then run towards the school.

When he reaches, he's panting heavily.

*panting* " Finally, I am here."

He muttered to himself.

Someone pat his back. He looked behind and find Sereka.

"What's the matter, Sotean? "

Sereka asked him.

"Nothing much. I'm just about to be late that's why I-" *panting*

She looked at him and said.

"Wait, don't tell me that you run to School just because you think you're getting late."

"E-Exactly." He said while looking at her.

*Sigh* "You still have half an hour left. I think you forget that our school starts from 9:00 AM from today because of winter."

She said then smile.

"Oh! Yeah. You're right. I forget that. Stupid me, heh heh."

Sotean said then Smile at his stupidity.

"Well then let's go. After that, we have some important business to do. Don't forget that."

Sereka said while smiling then step forward towards the school entrance.

"Yeah, yeah. I remember that."

Sotean said then he also went to school.

On lunch break, Sotean went to the school's rooftop.

"What a nice breeze it is."

He relaxed a little.

Then sit at the bench on the rooftop while looking at the sky.

He muttered to himself.

"What will we do today? Maybe Orthonoxmus will give us some mission to accomplish when we arrived. "

He take a deep breath then again muttered to himself.

"This world is full of mysteries. I wish I can able to solve these mysteries."

After that lunch break is over.

Sotean returns to his class and after school, both Sotean and Sereka walk their way to Sotean's home.

When they arrive. They both go to Sotean's room and get ready to go.

" I hope everything will be okay."

Sereka said.

She is a bit worried.

Sotean smiles then place one hand over her hand and said.

"Don't worry, Everything will be fine. I will be right there with you. So, don't worry."

Sereka look at him then said.

"Oh, Sotean. Thank you so much."

Sotean smiles.

She smiles too. She feels the warm sensation in her chest.

She's surprised at herself and thinks

"Why is this happening to me ?"

Then Sotean said.

"Alright then, let's go."

Then they both touch the Key to Everything at the same time.

Then they arrived at The Place of Infinite Possibilities.

"Welcome Back, Time Travellers."

Orthonoxmus greets them.

"Now, Orthonoxmus. Tell us what we have to do."

Sotean seriously asked him.

"Okay then let's start by explaining your work."

Orthonoxmus said.

Then he begins explaining.

"There are about 7 Virtual Timelines created by Time Hunters. The first one is the strongest one known as 'SS ranked virtual timeline'. After that the second strongest is the 'S ranked virtual timeline'. Then third strongest is the 'A ranked virtual timeline'. Then after that 'B ranked virtual timeline' and after that 'C ranked' and 'D ranked'. And at the end, the weakest one is the 'E ranked virtual timeline'. You two have to start by fighting the weakest than the strong after that the strongest. In this sequence of fighting, you two can able to grow strong perfectly. Your today task is to defeat the monster in 'E ranked virtual timeline' and when you two will defeat the Time Hunter of 'E ranked virtual timeline' you will get a stone. So, bring that stone with you, it will help a lot."

Orthonoxmus explains.

"Okay, but if there are so many monsters then how we can able to defeat them. Just only the two of us."

Sereka asked him.

"Well, yeah. She got a point."

Sotean said to Orthonoxmus.

"Just Believe in your strength. Your belief is your power, don't forget that."

Orthonoxmus said thoughtfully.

"O-Okay." They both said with hesitation.

"And before you two go. Here."

Orthonoxmus said then he snaps his fingers then suddenly their clothes changes.

Sotean's clothes changes to a long black coat with a redshirt inside it and black jeans.

And Sereka's clothes changes. She has a ruffly black and pink-colored collar with another bow at the edge. Her jacket is black with pink trim and a cutout on the shoulders. It also has cutouts on the back and sides.

Her skirt is grey and pleated with a blue stripe and a black stripe. There are two layers underneath-a pink scalloped edge with spade symbols dangling off and an enormous navy blue ruffled skirt. She also wears black tights and black heeled shoes.

"Wow... It's great."

Sotean said enthusiastically.

"It's really beautiful."

Sereka said in a happy voice while smiling.

"Okay then, now go."

Orthonoxmus said then he snaps his fingers again, after that both Sotean and Sereka teleported to the 'E ranked virtual timeline'.

When they arrived, they both looked surprised to see a world made of the only rocky mountain, no lake, no water. Only large mountains and cold air.

"Woah...I can't believe a world like this will ever exist. No rivers, no water." Sotean said in amazement.

"It looks like that this planet got drought."

Sereka said while looking around in amazement.

"How living beings of this planet will look like ?"

Sotean enthusiastically said to Sereka.

"I never think that you'll be that excited to see these monsters."

Sereka said while looking at Sotean while making a confused face.

"Oh come on, I know you're also excited to see them."

Sotean said to Sereka while looking around.

"Well yeah. I'm also excited but not overexcited like you. And don't forget that we are here to defeat these monsters not only to take a look."

Sereka said to Sotean.

Then suddenly a group of hill monsters is approaching them.

"Sotean, Look!"

Sereka said in an alarming voice.

"That's the monsters."

Sotean said then he closes his eyes and stand his right arm in the air then suddenly his sword has appeared in his hand.

"Let's go."

Sotean said to Sereka.

"Yeah."

Sereka said then she closes her eyes and do the same.

Sotean's Sword and Sereka's Katana are glowing.

Then, they both run towards the monsters and start cutting them like vegetables.

Within 30 minutes, the whole group of hill monsters is cleaned up.

Sotean look at his sword in amazement and said.

"I-I-I never do something like that before. I don't know how I can able to do that."

"S-S-S-Same here."

Sereka said while looking at her Katana in amazement.

Then suddenly the ground starts trembling.

And a blue skinny beast is running towards Sotean and Sereka.

(This is the time hunter of 'E ranked virtual timeline'. He has blue-colored skin, has two horns in his head, and has red eyes.)

"This might be the Time Hunter of this virtual timeline."

Sotean said to Sereka in an alarming voice.

"Yeah, we have to defeat him."

Sereka said in an alarming voice.

"Sereka, let's go."

Sotean said to Sereka.

"Yeah."

She replied.

That beast is running so fast toward them while roaring.

Both Sotean and Sereka tighten the grip of their weapons.

Sotean's eyes color turns red and Sereka's eye color turns blue. They both become really serious.

Then they both run towards that beast while screaming.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Both Sotean and Sereka scream while running.

Then that beast and these two cross paths and after a minute of silence, Time Hunter of 'E ranked virtual timeline' fell to the ground. His body was sliced in half.

They both look back at that monster.

And within a moment, that monster's body disappeared and left a blue-colored stone.

Sotean runs to get the stone. He pick up the stone and asked Sereka.

"So that's the stone. Right ?"

She said with a sigh of relief in her voice.

"Yeah. I think so."

Then they both suddenly teleported back to The Place of Infinite Possibilities.

"Congratulations on your first success."

Orthonoxmus said in a happy voice.

"Huh?"

Sotean surprisedly respond.

"How can we back here all of a sudden ?"

Sereka asked Orthonoxmus.

"Well, you two defeated the time hunter of 'E ranked virtual timeline'. So, that's why you two are back. Whenever you defeat the time hunter of a virtual timeline, the virtual timeline is erased and you will be teleported back from where you go to the virtual timeline."

Orthonoxmus explains.

"I...see..."

Sereka said confusingly.

"Here. The stone you tell us to bring."

Sotean said while giving Orthonoxmus the stone.

"Oh! very well."

Orthonoxmus said then he walks towards the water from which the tree is grown up.

He dipped the stone inside the water.

The stone immediately vanishes inside the water and some new shining bubbles appear in front of them.

"Wait...Are these the timelines which were erased because of the virtual timelines ?"

Sereka asked Orthonoxmus.

"Indeed. After the virtual timeline is erased the resurrection of the faded timelines is stored in this stone. That's why this stone is necessary to restore the faded timelines. Every time hunter has a stone. So, you have to fight them to restore the faded timelines and to protect the current timeline also."

Orthonoxmus explains.

"I see."

Sotean said while understanding the concept.

"Well then, now you two go home and take some rest."

Orthonoxmus said then he snaps his fingers and then they both returned to Sotean's home.

"Alright, then I will see you tomorrow."

Sereka said.

"Yeah."

Sotean said.

Then Sereka went her way to her home.

And Sotean lie down on his bed and muttered to himself.

"Man! today is tiresome. I feel great to do this. After all, I am protecting my timeline also."

He said then closes his eyes and fall asleep because of tiredness.

He got another dream.

"What? Again ?"

He muttered to himself in the dream.

He sees a man standing in front of his home which is on fire.

"W-Who is this guy ?"

He muttered again.

Then he wakes up panting heavily and muttered to himself.

*Panting* "Why do I have a dream like this again ?"

He then rushes to his kitchen and looks at the gas stove.

He finds out that the gas stove is off. Then he goes to the bathroom, washes his face.

And then rushes back to his room. Then he lie down on his bed again and muttered to himself.

"Strange. The gas stove is off but still, I get a dream of fire. And Who was that man ?"

He falls asleep while thinking about his dream.
