Our Beloved Tree(English Ver.)

Between the West Land and the East Land,

There is a little island.

In the night with a beautiful Milky Way,

A young Tree has sprouted.

Then, a Canary comes flying, and watches him grow.

“Welcome to the World, a Beloved Tree.

Please be my perch someday.

I am the bird bringing flowers.”

The young Tree says,

“Well, I am too small to be your perch.”

The Canary chirps softly,

“Oh, then I am waiting for that day to come,

Dreaming to see lovely flowers.”

Every day the Sun rises,

Every day the Moon smiles.

The Tree grows vigorously,

And puts forth nice branches.

The Canary comes and says,

“You have grown up, my Beloved Tree.

Let me rest my wings on the branch.

Look, I brought some lovely flowers.

I’ll plant them on you,

So you give them water and wind.

Let’s make flowers bloom together.”

The Tree replies swinging his branches gently,

“Wow, what a lovely flowers they are!

I’ll give you wind and water,

Please bloom brilliantly.

Ms. Canary, thank you very much.

Will you rest your wings on my branch?”

The Canary kisses the branch and responds,

“No, I will leave now,

And bring more flowers for you.”

Then she flies away.

The Tree is waiting quietly.

One time, the wind blows strongly,

And it breaks a branch.

But the Tree doesn’t cry at all.

He is just standing so soundly.

The Canary comes, with anxiety,

“Oh my, your branch is breaking!

Doesn’t it hurt you? Are you OK?”

“Well, it does hurts me.

However, what is more anxious is

That you can’t rest on it.

Ms. Canary, if you feel tired,

Please rest your wings on me.”

The Canary flies away in a hurry,

And comes back taking something in her bill.

“Look, I found some ribbons for you.

I will treat you using them.

Take a rest until your pain disappears,

For making lovely flowers bloom again.”

The Canary ties the branch with ribbons.

From that time on, the Canary comes

And plants lovely flowers on the Tree.

The Tree spreads his roots wide,

And with the branches growing more and more,

He supports the Canary and flowers.

“These flowers are so beautiful…

They are at their best.

My favorite white flowers…”

“My branch bends supplely,

And my trunk will not be shaken.

Sometimes I feel their weight a little too much,

But the flowers let me forget it and heal.”

Even in a winter, the Tree doesn’t feel lonely.

A Butterfly comes to see him from the Snowy Land.

She turns her eyes to the lovely flowers,

Then dedicates a love song to the Tree.

The Tree reddens his leaves,

And kisses the ala of the Butterfly.

In the next winter, the Butterfly comes again,

And they are talking about love together.

Thanks to her, even in cold and snowy days,

His heart feels so warm.

One day in autumn,

Very strong wind blows up.

The branch tied with ribbons breaks again,

And his trunk leans over.

The Tree feels so painful,

Makes the leaves rustled like groaning.

The Canary flies in great haste against the wind.

“Oh God, my Beloved Tree!

You will be broken before long!

Wait a minute, I will treat you!”

“No… Ms. Canary, It’s all up with me.

I will fall down soon.

My branches are in shreds, leaves are fallen,

So I can’t support you anymore.

All of the flowers will also be scattered.”

“Never give up, it’s gonna be all right.

You are my Beloved Tree.

If I treat you properly,

We can make flowers bloom again.

Please wait a little more.”

The Canary flaps her wings frantically,

And ties the trunk with ribbons over and over again.

Thanks to the tightly tied ribbons,

The Tree barely escaped the collapse.

“Thank you, thank you, Ms. Canary.

I still feel the pain,

But you have saved me with all your might.

I won’t cry anymore.

Let’s make flowers bloom again.

I pursue a dream with you.”

The Tree recovers his health

So that he can make more flowers bloom.

The Canary also gets spirited,

Singing a pretty song,

She plants flowers like dancing.

“Look at these lovely flowers.

The flowers you and me make bloom.”

“Thanks to you, my Beloved Tree,

My dream has come true.

Now I can rest my wings

On a tree full of flowers.”

The Canary sings in a clear voice,

And the Tree swings the branches gently.

One day, the Canary says to the Tree,

“I have seen you since your childhood,

And watched you grow vigorously.

Sometimes I worried about you,

But you have grown up so much.

It somehow makes me cry.

Thank you very much, my Beloved Tree.”

“That’s what I want to say, Ms. Canary.

Though I went through the pain,

You saved me over again.

Without you, I would have fallen down that night.

Now you are like my family.

Please stay with me always.”

The days of flowers have lasted for a while,

But the Tree realizes that the Canary is getting tired.

Then the Tree says to her,

“Are you OK, Ms. Canary?

Your wings seem to be a little tired.

Will you stop bringing the flower for a moment

And take a rest on my branches?”

“Oh, no thank you, I’m OK,

I can fly high above…”

In that instant of her starting to fly,

The Canary falls totteringly.

“So…Sorry, I’m so sorry,

I can’t fly so far away anymore.

In the last, may I plant

My favorite, sweet white flower here?”

The Tree makes wind to get her up

And carries her to the branch softly.

“Get plenty of rest, Ms. Canary.

I am standing here, and waiting

For the days of flowers.

If you ease your body and mind,

You may come back to me.”

A tear runs down from her eyes.

Taking some rest, the Canary goes back to her homeland.

The Tree feels a little lonely.

Although the Butterfly comes,

There are no flowers to show her.

Still, as always, the Butterfly

Kisses his wounded branches and raises him up.

One day in spring,

A cheerful Swallow comes from the Cherry Land.

The Tree raises his head and says,

“Hello, you cheerful Swallow,

Why don’t you rest on the branch?”

The Swallow replies,

“Oh dear, how nice you are!

I’m also the bird bringing flowers,

May I perch here and rest?”

The days of flowers start again from now on.

The flowers that the Swallow brings

Are filled with vivid colors.

The Tree becomes quite splendid.

“The Swallow, thank you for bringing me

These brilliant flowers.

Now I am filled with joy

Breathing a new fragrance.”

“It is honor for me to hear that.

I have been watching your flowers

From far away, beyond the sea.

I am so happy to meet you, Mr. Beloved Tree,

And be able to make flowers bloom.”

The Tree regains his brightness,

And reach out the branches further.

The Swallow brings a lot of

Brand new flowers like dancing.

“Look, this is a flower called cherry.

They bloom beautifully in my homeland.

They sure suit you well.

Let’s make lovely cherries bloom.”

Then the Swallow puts a lot of

Lovely pink petals on his branches.

“Wow, how beautiful they are!

If I could blow them off as far as possible,

That would be so wonderful.”

The Tree puts forth his strength

And swings the branches strongly.

“Great! You can do it!

Let’s spread our flowers all over the world!”

For many days, the Tree and the Swallow

Put their force on cherries to make all of them bloom.

The next spring comes.

The cherries come into full bloom.

Its petals are dancing in the wind,

And it makes a carpet of pink flowers.

“Look at this! How marvelous it is!

Everyone, all over the world watches us!

The days we spent working hard are rewarded now.”

“Since you brought me the cherries,

I was able to be fresh again.

I pursue the sequel of dream with you

That I have had with Ms. Canary.

I can never thank you enough, the Swallow,

For reaching such a beautiful day!”

However, the flowers of cherry

Finish its brilliant days soon.

At the same time, a day comes to the Swallow

That she has to go back to her homeland.

“Well… I have to go now.

The parting is so much painful for me,

But I will never forget you.

Good-bye, Mr. Beloved Tree,

Thank you for the glorious dream.”

“Are you leaving now, so soon?

Because I can’t move from here,

I can’t go with you.

Then, resting my body and mind,

I will waiting for the day comes.

Thank you for coming, the Swallow,

The days we spent together are my treasure.”

For a long, long time,

The Tree is waiting for birds bringing flowers.

Even though he can talk with the Butterfly he loves,

He needs some flowers.

Sometimes, a young bird comes

Taking a seed of a flower in her bill.

The Tree calls her out gently,

And teaches her how to plant the seed.

“The days like this are not so bad.

Many birds in the world,

Many trees in the world,

Wait the time to bloom.

I want to tell them

The virtue of making flowers bloom.

But… how can I teach it around the world?”

The Tree sighs, and looks into

The distant sky unintentionally…

Believe it or not, that friendly Canary

Comes back to the Tree!

“My God! Long time no see, Ms. Canary!

Are you coming to see me again?”

“Yes! Until now, I have met

Many trees and birds, and tell them

The virtue of making flowers bloom.

Oh, dear my old Beloved Tree!”

They have a same dream.

They sing along,

“The days of flowers are like a dream.

Let’s make them bloom together.

May the birds and trees in the world

Be surrounded by delight.”

One night, the Canary says,

“Which flowers should I bring?

Well, I travel around the world for a little more.

If I know the various flowers,

I will be more beautiful.”

“Have a good trip, Ms. Canary.

I’m looking forward to this, too.

If you find it, show me please.

I am surely waiting here.”

The Canary flips her wings softly,

And flies in the night sky.

Only three days after that,

A violent storm arises.

The Tree wakes up in surprise.

Then,

An outrageous thunder strikes in the Tree.

The Tree realizes that he is pierced,

And his core gets split in two.

The rain has passed over.

Slowly, slowly, slowly…

The Tree collapses down.

A petal drops.

The Canary, the Swallow and the Butterfly

Hear that sound in their homelands.

They burst into tears.

The Tree looks up the sky.

It is sprinkled with stars.

Once he reaches his branch toward them,

He can touch the Milky Way.

“It is the same sky, as the day when I sprouted.

I don’t know where I am now,

But maybe I am not alone.

Ms. Canary, the Swallow and my Butterfly

Are surely singing happily, brightly like stars.”

The Tree closes his eyes.

A shooting star glided across the sky.
