池辺とアオイがチードル博士から事情聴取しているころ、産業スパイ狩りを専門とする探偵会社「京橋テクノサービス」社長の高山ミレが、暗号通信メールで送られてきた宝生世津奈の活動報告書に目を通していた。

When Ikebe and Aoi were hearing from Dr. Cheadle, Myret Takayama, CEO of the detective firm "Kyobashi Techno Servide," specialized in industrial spy hunting,was reading the activity report Setsua Hosho had sent to her via encrypted e-mail.

　メールを読み終えた高山はため息をついた。

「また、あの用心棒2人組……あいつらと関わり合いになると、ろくなことにならない。もう、すでに、ゾンビなんて言葉がでてきてる」

高山は独り言をつぶやく。

　高山は世津奈に「任務を放棄して引き返せ」と送信したい衝動にかられたが、なんとかそれを抑えた。

「宝生ちゃんとコータローが『シェルター』が用意した隠れ家から逃げ出すと、『シェルター』との中立関係にヒビが入りかねない。それに、このDr. Cheadleとやらが、我々の調査に関わる重要な情報を握っているかもしれない。ともかく、『Ｍ』からの電話を待つしかない」

　高山は社長室の冷蔵庫からトマトジュースの新しいボトルを取り出しラッパ飲みで半分を飲み干すと、「状況了解。『Ｍ』の接触を待つ」と宝生に返信した。

Takayama sighed when she has read through the report. She murmured.

" Here they are again. Ikebe and Aoi ! Whenever we encounter that bodyguard duo, things will get messy. I've already read the word "zombies" ."

She was about to tell Setsuna in return mail to abort the mission and come back to office. But she manged to desist from her impulsive action.

"If Setsuna and Koh tried to get out of the SHELTER's hideout, it might damage our neutral relationship with the SHELTER. Moreover, this guy, called Dr. Cheadle, may have some information related to our contracted job. I've got to see the result of the talks between Setsuna and the bodygurards."

Takayama took out a new bottle of tomato juice from the fridge in her office and drank half of the juice straight from the bottle. Then she sent back a mail saying "Situation understood. Waiting for ”Ｍ”'s contact."
