Kanade is emotionally spent, the text from her mother really upset her, and it upsets her more that Himari and Komamura are right, that she wouldn't do a good job at cooking, she wouldn't be able to keep her mind on what she was doing, and ruin the meal, at this point she's not even able to be good company. Komamura suspects that Kanade had some sort of contact from her mother, but he will not say anything until she talks first.
