The Suffer
It was already gloomy outside. Nighthawk flew out from his nest. The cloud glowed maliciously, and hanged low. Nighthawk flew close to the clouds in the sky silently.
And then Nighthawk suddenly opened his big mouth, straightened his wings, like an arrow and crossed the sky. Hundreds, even thousands of small leaf beetles went into his throat.
Nighthawk lightly flew up again just before his body touched the ground. The clouds already changed to dark gray. He could see red mountain fires beyond the horizon.
When Nighthawk flies strongly, the sky seems to split in half. A beetle flew into Nighthawk’s throat, and struggled for a long time to escape. Nighthawk swallowed it down, but then felt a thrill on his back and shivered.
The clouds were already pure black, and only the mountain fire at the east was red, that looked eerie. Nighthawk felt pressure on his chest, and flew up to the sky again.
Another beetle, flew into Nighthawk’s throat. And scratched his throat seeking escape.
Nighthawk swallowed it, but then, suddenly a strong sadness and guilt caught his soul, and Nighthawk screamed out loud and started to cry. He cried and flew around and around and around and around and around.
(Ah, I’m killing so many beetles and many other bugs every night. And now I’m going to be killed by Hawk. So, how painful is that. Oh, I can’t stand it. I won’t eat any bugs from now on, and shall starve to death, before that hawk kills me. No, before that happens, I’ll fly far far away over the sky.)
The mountain fire, started to spread slowly like dripping water, while the clouds became red like flame.
Nighthawk flew straight to his brother Kingfisher’s place. The beautiful Kingfisher was also awake and watched the mountain fire from far away. And when he saw Nighthawk coming down he said:
“Brother. Good evening. Are you in a hurry?”
“No, I’m going far away this night, and I just came to say goodbye.”
“Brother. You can’t go. Hummingbird lives far away, so I’m going to be all alone without you.”
“I have to leave. Please don’t say anything tonight. And brother, please don’t catch fish if it’s not necessary. Good bye, now.”
“Brother. What happened. Oh, please stay here for a while.”
“No, nothing will change even I stay here any longer. Tell Hummingbird, that I’m leaving. Good bye. I won’t see you ever again. Good bye.”
