Anne to Ant

Anne was a cheerful little girl.

One warm day, as she was playing in her garden, she noticed an ant staring at her.

"Who are you?" Anne asked.

"I'm Ant the ant," the little creature replied. "I love this garden so much!"

"An ant that can talk? That's amazing!"

Anne exclaimed, and Ant smiled happily.

"Thank you! As a reward for your kind words, I'll show you a secret of this garden."

"A secret? What's that?" Anne asked, her eyes sparkling.

Ant, feeling proud, began showing her around.

"Over here, there's a marble buried in the ground. And this tree bears the most delicious fruits!"

Anne was thrilled to learn about the treasures in her garden, guided by Ant's explanations.

But then, Ant looked a little sad.

"I want to play with you more, Anne, but winter is coming soon. So, I have to sleep until spring."

"Will you wait for me until then?"

Ant's question hung in the air.

"Of course!" Anne replied cheerfully.

And so, Ant went to sleep.

Ant knew.

He knew he might never see Anne again. The passage of time is so different for humans and ants.

Frost came, the garden was blanketed in deep snow, and eventually, the rains of spring began to fall.

Ant woke up.

Peeking out cautiously from the chilly soil, he looked around.

"Good morning, Ant! You sure are a sleepyhead!"

There was Anne, smiling brightly as she waited for him.

"I have so many things to tell you!"

Anne said happily.

After a brief pause,

"Me too!" Ant replied with a cheerful smile.

The End.
