第5話 The Succubus Café was a terrifying place

At the end of the dark corridor, room 203's door was slightly ajar, with dim red wooden doors.

Faint rustling sounds came from inside the room, and white mist wafted out through the door gap.

"Is anyone there?"

Lin Ze cautiously pushed open the door and looked inside, his dark eyes flashing with doubt.

The room was empty, filled with a faint white mist, as if he had walked into a sauna.

"Where is everyone?" Lin Ze silently heightened his vigilance and looked around in confusion.

Suddenly, a yellow figure flashed past behind him.

A chill ran down his spine as Lin Ze sensed danger in the air.

He was sure he had seen a yellowish-brown animal, bigger than a mouse but smaller than a fox, though he couldn't identify it.

"Human~"

While Lin Ze was in a daze, a cold, soft voice accompanied by a chilly wind made him break out in a cold sweat.

Sensing something, Lin Ze quickly turned around.

A small, slender weasel stood in front of him.

The weasel, about 30 centimeters long, had a slender body covered in yellowish-brown fur. Its tiny mouth was adorned with long whiskers. Its legs were nimble and strong, and its bushy tail resembled a broom.

Its pink paws were crossed in front of its chest, and its furry face was filled with cunning.

"Is this... a weasel?" Lin Ze blinked in confusion.

Why was there a weasel in room 203? Didn't the government forbid spirits after the revolution?

The mist swirled around, and the weasel bared its sharp teeth, speaking arrogantly, "Human, why have you trespassed on my territory?"

Lin Ze replied calmly, "I'm here to collect rent. You've been living here for two and a half years, and it's time to pay up."

"Heh heh..." The weasel grinned, "Very well, I can give you the rent, but you must answer a question first."
