I'm enjoying this very much, but to be honest, it's starting to get a bit annoying how clueless the MC is about love. I mean, I get that it's his first time, but surely he's at least superficially familiar with the typical "symptoms" from fiction and such? Yet he keeps wondering "why do I think she's cute," "why am I enjoying being with her so much," "why is my heart pounding" and so on. Freaking realise it already that you're developing a crush... 🙄

I've grown to be quite fond of occasional chapters from side characters' point of view. As long as they're just occasional.

Well said. And MC, don't go down the path of low self-esteem like so many protagonists... I've had a pretty good first impression of him, but that will go down if he starts to think and talk about himself in self-depracating ways.

I like his attitude. He's not so scared of the attention that he would avoid contact with her in public, but he also doesn't want to appear closer than they actually are. It's a measured approach that neither seeks unnecessary trouble nor appears gutless, like many protagonists who want to keep it a secret even if they're dating.

Is the poor childhood friend going to become a losing heroine again?
