第13話 Should the use of genetically modified crops be banned?

Topic of genetically modified crops has been controversial issue for decades. While some argue that it benefits for society, the others condemn it as harmful things for environment. I provide the three reasons about why use of genetically modified crops should be banned.

Firstly, it has a potential to be harmful for human health. There is no credit for assuring that it can be no harmful for human health. There is also data showing that it can cause allergic reaction for anyone and disease risk. Therefore, it will be better to wait for taking time more until reliable data is released publicly.

Secondly, it can have negative impact for environment. Crossbreeding of genetically modified crops and non-genetically modified crop can contribute the loss of viodiversity and lead to loss of healthy food supply chain and harm the wild life adjacent to the place where genetically modified crop grows up.

Lastly, it can lead to exploitation for small farmers which don't produce genetically modified crop. Only large corporatiion can benefit the profits and lead to monopoly and dominant in the industry.

In conclusion, I am concerned that there are risks for human health and environment, the loss of viodiversity and exploitation of small farmers by large corporation which will lead to not healthy society.
