第11話 A lack of women’s rights is a serious problem in Japan?

Although Japan is advanced developed country, there is still serious problem for women's right. This topic is urgent issue for government to solve. I explain three categories as follows for achieving the equal society among all genders.

Firstly, there is gender based pay gap. Women can earn only about 70% of that of men for salary in relation with the employment contract gap between men and women. Women are harder to work as full-time worker compared with men.

Secondly, women are underrepresented in the politics. Men lawmakers dramatically outweigh the women with only several % of their seat in the congress which means that it will be difficult for women to represent their voice into the policy that will lead to create unfair society.

Lastly, Women have been suffering from gender based discrimination and harrasment. Women get pressure to conform to the traditional women's role such as house wives in contrast to their true desire. it will lead to hostile working environment for women.

In conclusion, Japanese government should take a step for solving the problem.

They should take the women's right into account and reflect their apperance into policy, society and working place.
