今日は日中雨という予報。点呼でも係長が「雨が好きなドライバー嫌いなドライバーと、二つに分かれます」という話があった。私は後者。雨で一番嫌なのは仕事が終わった後にする洗車が大変になるという事。

あと、雨の日は車内の窓ガラスが曇るので運転がしづらくなる。

それを話したら先輩ドライバーが「それはお前が汗っかきだからだよ」と教えてくれた。

確かに私は汗っかきだ。なるほど、車内に汗が水蒸気となって窓ガラスに付くのかと思った。

今日は暇だった。

朝８時出庫で正午までに２回しかお客さんを乗せていない。営収も４２００円。

お陰様で2時間以上は英語の勉強ができて良かったのだけれど、さすがにこの数字は低すぎるし、勉強も集中力がもたないので、お客さんを乗せたくなった。

結局今日の売り上げは１３５００円で終了。

そして洗車。

雨の汚れって凄いんだよね。タクシーのボディは黒色だから、遠くから見ると分からないんだけど、近くでボディを見ると、まるでウロコがついたような斑模様になって汚れが現れる。

洗車の仕方。

ワイパーを外側に広げる。これは洗車が終わった後に洗車済である事を示す為。

そして、後部座席、運転席、助手席の足を乗せるマットを出す。

室内の足元を濡れたタオルで拭く。

雨だから、車全体にホースで水をかける。

汚れが浮いてくるので、吸水クロスでルーフ、ボンネット、ドア、サイドシルの水気を取る。特に雨の日は、サイドシルの裏側が泥水で汚れているので入念に奇麗にする。そして窓ガラスを濡れタオルで拭いてから乾いたタオルで綺麗にする。

窓ガラスはちなみに内側も外側も行う。

そしてタイヤとマットを洗剤を使用しながらブラシで擦って汚れを落とす。

雨の日の洗車は慣れると１時間１５分くらいかな。最初の頃は１時間４０分くらいかかっていた。

これが、今の穏やかな気候の時は良いけど、真夏の日にやると、洗車だけで体中汗だくになって一気に疲れる。去年の夏を思い出すな～

身体が汗臭くなるんだよね。

今年はその前に転職して免れたいな～

Car wash on a rainy day

It has forecast to rain during daytime today. At the morning roll-call, a chief manager said there are two types of taxi drivers, one who likes rainy days, the other opposites. I am defitively latter case. Why? Car wash after working will be heavy task. And Rainy weather makes me difficult to drive because inside glass becomes cloudy.

When I told senior driver about it, he said "That's because you're sweating."

Sure I'm sweaty. I see, I thought that the sweat in my body would turn into water vapor and stick to the window glass.

Today, I had a lot of time because customer didn't appear so I could study English very much but, I noticed at noon that I only had two passengers on board with total just 4200yen as of noon although 4 hours past since I left office at 8 am.

It is too low. even if me, I've become to feel like wanting to have any guest get on my taxi. In the end, my daily sales finished with 13500 yen.

It is time to wash car. It is physically tough thing for me to clean dirt resulting from rain.

You can not see any dirt from far distance because taxi body is black. But when you see it closely, you would find it dotted pattern ( like fish scale) throughout the car body.

Following is how to wash a car on a rainy day.

Spread the wipers outward (this shows the completion of washing after finishing it).

Take mats for each seat out.

Wipe the room inside with a wet towel.

Spray water with a hose to whole body of car.

Dirt will float away, so use a water-absorbing cloth to drain the roof, hood, doors, and side sills. Especially on rainy days, the back of the side sills is dirty with muddy water, so make it carefully clean.

Then wipe the window glass with a wet towel and then clean it with a dry towel(both inside and outside of glass)

Then, rub the tires and mat with a brush while using detergent to remove dirt.

Washing a car on a rainy day takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes once you get used to it. For the beginner, it took about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

This is good in the current mild weather, but if you do it on a midsummer day, I get used to be sweated all over my body just from washing the car and I got tired at once.

and I found bad smell coming from my body.

I want to escape from that before mid summer this year.
