The town of Blackbeute is located by a large lake, with numerous swamps and marshes scattered around. Many aquatic demi-humans reside by the water, including lizardmen, frogmen, and kilihfishmen.
Among the demi-humans, half of the women are witches, and there is a witch named René Uruyowa who performs rain dances in the Ampas Marsh. René had a son named Yorl, who was quiet and shy. Yorl, though not a troublemaker, worked as a swamp security guard and rarely ventured out of the marsh.
Yorl was reaching the age when he would be considered middle-aged among the demi-humans, and René was deeply concerned about her son's future. She wondered if there might be a suitable frog bride somewhere.
"Hey, René, is your son still holed up in the marsh?" a familiar lizardman called out.
"Yeah, he is. If he could find a wife or be taken in as a son-in-law, that would be great," René replied.
"In that case, there's a cute frog kid over at Southpond with Giggi. How about arranging a meeting? She's a bit flashy, but she's a good kid," the lizardman suggested.
"Is that so? Then please, I'll rely on you," René said.
René was determined to do anything for her son's sake.
