　It was the day of the company's year-end party. I was walking to the bus stop in downtown Katamachi, which I rarely visit.

　When I turned down an alley, I saw Takaoka-san with a man.

　I instantly sobered up.

"Nagasaka-san......!"

　She stood there stunned. The man next to her was red-faced, perhaps drunk.

"What is it?　What do you want with my girlfriend?"

　He said and pulled her into a hug.

　I silently turned on my heel and started running. Her cries followed my back.

" Wait! Nagasaka-san! No, no, no! This man is my business partner......."

　"......."

　I wonder if there is a law about what a woman says when she is caught cheating on her partner. It's the same as if it was stamped on the wall.

　But....

　Oddly enough, I felt relieved.

　She had betrayed me after all. But this freed me from the fear that she might betray me again someday.
