Toriaezu's English Essays

Self Introduction

Nice to meet you. Call me Toriaezu.

I'm a native born-and-raised American currently living in Japan.

I've been in the country for over a good three years now and, in an effort to improve my writing skills in order to be more cut out for translation, have decided to start a blog here on Kakuyomu.

And that's it. Ain't got much else to say.

As far as self-introductions go, I understand this is pretty underwhelming. Typically decent personal introductions have lists of accomplishments, or interesting factoids, or something that gives people a good idea of the person being introduced (whatever the hell passes as a "good idea" of who someone is goes), but, my current writing skills being what they are (or what I've misguidedly come to believe them to be), this is the best I feel like I've got.

Also there's the fear that chances are if I don't publish this I'll never get started on improving my writing, so shooting this into the vast pool of unread writings on this site is probably for the best.

We don't really have a phrase that really has the same one-to-one use or meaning as *yoroshiku onegaishimasu* in English, but, in an effort to approximate the sentiment, here's to a hopefully not entirely unfruitful journey *raises water glass*.
